# Apps

An App is a web application, typically one that allows users to explore criminal justice data in an interactive fashion.

# Searching Apps

There are two ways to search through Apps to find what you're most interested in: search terms and category filter. You can also mix and match these two methods to refine your search.

# Search terms

Simply type words into the search bar on the top and you will get the filtered list of Apps. You can use any of the following information on App, and any combination thereof, for a search term:

  • Title
  • Contributors
  • Tags

# Category filter

Category filter is found under the search bar on the left (Figure 3a). Click the filter to see what categories are used for the existing Apps (Figure 3b). Select any to see the filtered list of Apps of the select category (Figure 3c).

# App card

The card view for an App item has the following information:

  • Title of the current App item
  • Tags for the current App item
  • Date, contributors, and categories of the current App item
  • MORE button to see the full view

Click on each contributor's name to go to a webpage with more information on the contributor.

The full view for an App item has the following information:

  • Title of the current App item
  • LAUNCH button to launch the App on a new browser tab
  • BACK button to return to the Apps page
  • Metadata of the current App item
  • Recommended citation and funding acknowledgement if any
  • Related contents (Articles and Datasets) if any
